PURPOSE:To strongly join a metal plate each other without a special working device by forming a raising piece toward the end edge of 1st and 2nd metal plates and performing a press forming by overlapping in the state of the end edge of one part of each metal plate being pinched by the raising piece each other. CONSTITUTION:The raising piece 7 is formed so as to extend toward an end edge 6 so as to have an opening 8 on a 1st metal plate 1. On a 2nd metal plate 2 as well a similar raising piece 7 is formed so as to extend toward an end edge 5. The metal plate 2 is then put on the metal plate 1 along an arrow mark direction. At this time the part of the end edge 5 of the metal plate 2 is pinched between the raising piece 7 of the metal plate 1 and the opening 8. The part of the end edge 6 of the metal plate 1 is similarly pinched between the raising piece 7 of the metal plate 2 and an opening 18 as well. The part of the metal plates 1, 2 being overlapping is then subjected to a press forming. The raising piece 7 is then pressed to the lower part to press-fit the metal plate part facing to the opening 8 into the opening 8. The raising piece 17 is simultaneously joined by press-fitting the metal plate part into the opening 18.
