PURPOSE:To prevent metal wearing powder from being generated by providing a plate cam which cooperates with the driving mechanism of a tap selector to eliminate all sliding and rolling contacting motions of the fixed contact of movable contactors and a current collecting ring. CONSTITUTION:A mechanism for separating movable contactors 5, 5' from a fixed contact 2 at the time of changing taps, then moving them in a switching direction and then returning them again to a contacting state at the normal position of the tap is provided between a driving mechanism and a movable contact 3. That is, the contactors 5, 5' of the contact 3 are separated from the contact 2 and a current collecting ring 1 by a plate cam 16 before they are driven at the time of changing the taps, move in the switching direction in this state, the contactors 5, 5' and the contact 2 are separated even after they are moved to next tap positions, and the contact is formed after the cam 16 completely rotates. Thus, the sliding motion between the contactors 5, 5' and the contact 2 is eliminated to prevent metal powder due to wear from being generated.
