PURPOSE:To prevent sliding scratch of a mold for continuous casting by arranging a Ni-Fe alloy plating layer through an upper-half part plating layer of Cu or Cu alloy and a lower-half part plating layer of Ni or Ni alloy on the casting face of a Cu or Cu alloy made long side mold. CONSTITUTION:In the mold for continuous casting with variable casting width, the plating layer 2 of Cu or Cu alloy at the upper-half part and the plating layer 3 of Ni or Ni alloy at the lower-half part of the casting face of the long side mold wall 1 composing of Cu or Cu alloy are arranged, so as to become the same face. Further, on the surface of plating layers 2, 3, the sliding scratch preventing coating 4 composing of a Ni-Fe alloy plating layer is arranged. In this way, the sliding scratch prevention on the casting face of the mold for continuous casting is executed. |
