PURPOSE:To surely catch a rapid cooling metal having no magnetism and to start the winding by feeding a magnetic dummy sheet to a transferred rapid cooling metal and starting the winding by pinching it between a winding reel and the magnetic dummy sheet. CONSTITUTION:When a 2nd circulating belt 5 is returned to the position of a continuous line simultaneously with cutting rapid cooling metal by a rapid cooling metal cutting means 12 at the time of completing the scrapping to a scrap box 11 of the part having many qualitative defects at the initial casting time, the rapid cooling metal 1 travels on a 2nd circulating belt 5 on the same level as that of a 1st circulating belt 4. When a dummy sheet 10 is cut off by a cutting means 13 at the time when the rapid cooling metal reaches the center of a 3rd circulating belt 6, the tip vicinity of the rapid cooling metal is covered by the dummy sheet 10. The rapid cooling metal covered by the dummy sheet 10 is transferred on the 3rd circulation belt 6 and when it reaches on the winding reel 7 burying a permanent magnet, the rapid cooling metal is pinched by the magnetic force between the dummy sheet 10 and reel 7 to start the winding.
