A color picture or cathode ray tube is provided with a single-gun generating a plurality of groups of electron beams which are all focused on the color phosphor screen by a common electron lens with all of the beams preferably passing through the optical center of such lens, and the beams of each group are made to have a common landing spot on the screen so as to simultaneously excite respective color phosphors of the screen and thereby provide a color picture of enhanced brightness. |
