PURPOSE:To provide the titled copolymer resin having improved thermal discoloration resistance, containing more than a specific amount of acrylonitrile, having a specific melt flow rate and containing a sulfur compound originated from a sulfur-based chain transfer agent in an amount controlled below a specific level. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer resin can be produced by using (A) an aromatic vinyl compound (e.g. styrene) and (B) >=5wt.%, preferably <=40wt.% acrylonitrile as main components, making the melt flow rate of the resin to 0.1-50g/10min under 5kgf load at 200 deg.C and controlling the content of a sulfur compound originated from a sulfur-based chain transfer agent to <=30wt.ppm in the copolymer resin in terms of sulfur.
