The invention describes novel diisocyanates of formulae: < IMG > < IMG > and in which R is an alkyl radical having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms. The diisocyanates of this invention are prepared, for example, via phosgenation of the corresponding diamines and subsequent thermal cleavage of the intermediately formed carbamic chloride. The diisocyanates are used for the preparation of plastics, preferably polyurethanes, and crop protection agents.
