An automatic guided vehicle (10) running on wheels (20, 21, 22) has a rear, floor level frame (26) fixed behind the vehicle. Above this frame is mounted a U-shaped support (12) with a base (40), front upright leg (41) and rear upright leg (42). The front leg (41) is connected to the vehicle (10) by means permitting the frame (12) to be moved up and down. Tooling (54, 56) at the top of the legs (41, 42) is adapted to support a component undergoing assembly between the two legs, the tooling being rotatably mounted so that the component can be disposed in any orientation about the axis extending between the top ends of the two legs. |
