摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain sutable driving performance for travelling condition aiways such as a road surface condition and so on by making to choose suitably a full-time four wheel drive mode and a full automatic four wheel drive mode. CONSTITUTION:When a sleeve 84 of a transfer mechanism 80 is slided to the right, the device becomes to a state of full-time four wheel drive in which output torque from an engine 1 or a transmission 2 is devided by a center differential gear 40 for driving right and left front wheels 10, 11 and right end left rear wheels 16, 17 respectively. While, when the sleeve 84 is made to slide to the left, the same becomes to a state of two wheel drive in which only rear wheels 16, 17 are diven. And then, when the second transmitting path is cut off by the transfer mechanism 80 to generate rotation speed difference between the front and the rear wheels, the rotation speed difference is put into the second viscous coupling 60 and the coupling 60 becomes to transmit torque, so the front wheels 10, 11 are driven, too, in proportion to the rotation speed difference between the front and the rear wheels thereby a full-automatic four wheel drive mode is obtained.
