PURPOSE:To contrive enhancement of the speed of an under color removal treatment, by superimposingly applying a black color material to an image formed by three color materials. CONSTITUTION:After transfer of data for three colors is finished, a controller 71 sequentially reads black color data from a frame memory 72 according to an unconditional read signal and updating of an address by a count pulse, and transfers the data to a printer engine through a multiplexer 77. Based on the black color data, a black color material is superimposingly applied to an image formed by at most three color materials, namely, cyan, magenta and yellow color materials, whereby the black color data can be generated while forming the image by using the three color materials. Namely, it is made posisble to contrive enhancement of the speed of an under color removal treatment.
