PURPOSE:To offer an electromagnetic transmitting member with high strength by constituting the member by an amorphous inorganic fiber made substantially of silicon, carbon and oxygen so as to attain a specific resistance. CONSTITUTION:The electromagnetic transmission member is constituted by inorganic fibers made substantially of Si, C and O and has a specific resistance of 10<5>-10<7> OMEGA.cm. The ratio of each element in the inorganic fiber is 45-65wt.% Si, 23-35wt.% C and 5-30wt.% O. The transmission member transmits a microwave in the range of 500MHz-3000GHz selectively. The transmission member is used as a composite body where a plastic or a ceramic is used as a matrix and then a high strength is attained.
