PURPOSE:To confirm a key operation without adding any special device by making an exchange generate a data to instruct the generation of a key click tone, on the basis of an operational key information, and making a key telephone set generate the key click tone through a speaker, when the said instruction data arrives. CONSTITUTION:When it is decided that the generation of the key click tone is necessary, by a necessity/unnecessity deciding means 8 which decides whether the generation of the key click tone is necessary or not on the basis of an output of a key information deciding means, a controlling means 10 outputs the instruction data to the data line, connected to the key telephone set which has a correspondence relation with the DSS console. The key telephone set II, connected to the exchange I, is provided with a click tone generating means 20 and the controlling means 21 to perform the operation control of respective parts, and it generates the key click tone through a speaker 19 on the basis of this instruction data, received by a data communicating part 17. Namely, because the confirmation of the operation of the operational key of the DSS console can be performed by the speaker of the key telephone set, the increase of the cost of a system can be suppressed.
