PURPOSE:To shorten remarkably the adjusting time for mold thickness, while reducing the controlling processes of the adjustment of a mold thickness by controlling the combination of a toggle mechanism with the rotation mechanism of an eccentric shaft in the adjusting mechanism of the mold thickness of a molding machine. CONSTITUTION:The angle theta0 from the dead point of the toggle mechanism 16 corresponding to the clamping allowance to obtain a prescribed mold clamping force, is calculated. Next. a servomotor 22 is driven so that the angle thetafrom the dead point of the toggle mechanism 16 becomes theta0. Then, an eccentric shaft 18 is rotated by a geared motor 19, until the mold 23 of stationary side is brought in contact with the mold 24 of movable side, thereby moving the supporting point of the toggle mechanism 16. In this state, when the toggle mechanism is further extended to the maximum value by the servomotor 22, a mold clamping system is deformed, and the prescribed clamping force is obtained. Since the mold thickness may be adjusted in a short time, its practical effect is large. |
