PURPOSE:To prevent a large amount of information from being omitted in a reproducing image, by storing one picture element data in a line memory after averaging it with an adjacent picture element data, and reading out only a part of the picture element data after thinning the picture element data. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal read by an image sensor 4 is converted to a digital signal at an A/D converter 103, and is sent to an averaging circuit 201 consisting of delay circuits 104 and 107, and addition average circuits 105 and 108. The averaging circuit 201 averages one picture element data with the adjacent picture element data, and sends a result to the line memory 109. The storage of the picture element data on the line memory 109 is performed by using an address signal from an address counter 106, and readout from the line memory 109 is performed by using a signal from an address counter 111. In such a way, no adjacent picture element information is lost even when the picture element to be read out is thinned out, and the omission of the information in the reproducing image can be reduced. |
