PURPOSE:To eliminate the decrease in corrosion resistance and also improve the workability by extruding lead alloy at temperatures lower than melting point through press means such as piston in casting mold to form an electrode plate grid which is sheared from the lead alloy at the contact surface of casting mold and press means and taken out. CONSTITUTION:A separately prepared lead alloy 6 is poured into a cylinder 4, pressed in a casting mold 2 by a pressure piston 5 at normal temperature, and extruded for the molding. Then after the pressure is decreased, the casting mold 2 is rotated and a product in the mold is separated from lead alloy in the cylinder by shearing and drawn by a knockout pin and thereby an electrode plate grid is formed. Also, continuous forming is carried out by adjusting the cylinder to the surface of another casting mold at the same time with the rotation. By the arrangement, cold forming with no melting is available so that good energy efficiency is obtained and cooling time is not required. Furthermore, corrosion resistant crystals with uniform metallographical system are produced with good material efficiency and work efficiency because of no scrap and no slug generation. |
