In order to provide a flow guide surface for the stern of a single or multi-propeller ship, a guide surface nozzle 1 is provided in front of the propeller 5 at a horizontal spacing of up to one propeller diameter. The centroid of the enclosed cross- sectional area lies above the propeller axis 7.
