Prodn. of flameproof resin foams by placing a heat softened thermoplastic resin under pressure in an extruder and injection into the resin, a mixture of a volatile foaming additive (pref. 7-30 wt.%) and of a flame retardant additive (pref. 0.2-3 wt.%). On discharge from the extruder into a cold, low press. chamber the resin foam is obtained. By this extrusion technique, a resin foam having satisfactory flame proofing properties is obtained. |
