PURPOSE:To improve the flow-characteristics and caking resistance of a toner by incorporating fine titanium dioxide powder coated with a specific org. compd. on the surface into a toner. CONSTITUTION:The fine TiO2 powder coated with the org. compd. having 40-150 deg.C m.p. on the surface is added to the toner. Satd. fatty acid and fatty acid ester of 13-39C, aliphat. alcohol of >=15C, etc., are usable as the above- mentioned compd. The coating of the toner with said compd. is executed by a method of dissolving, for example, the org. compd. (e.g.: cetyl alcohol) into an org. solvent (e.g.: methylene chloride) as desired, mixing the same with untreated TiO2 in a heated dispersing device, cooling the mixture and removing the solvent. Then, the reflocculation of TiO2 is prevented and, therefore, the flow-characteristics and caking resistance of the toner are improved and the generation of the defective cleaning is prevented. |
