PURPOSE:To reduce a contrast difference between a shield and a polarizing plate by constituting the titled liquid crystal light shielding body so that in two pieces of polarizing plates for constituting the liquid crystal light shielding body, an incident light side polarizing plate is made larger than the external form of an enclosed body of a liquid crystal, and the transmission light side polarizing plate of the liquid crystal light shielding body is made smaller than a sealing part. CONSTITUTION:The titled liquid crystal light shielding body is constituted of a liquid crystal 5 enclosed in a substrate 3 and a shielding part 4 between the shield 1 of an incident light 10 side and the transparent cover 9 of a transmission light 11 side, an incident light side polarizing plate 2 sandwiching the substrate 3 and having a larger size than the substrate 3, and the transmission light side polarizing plate 6 of an external form being smaller than an area of a seal part 4. Accordingly, in case of looking at from the side of the incident light 10, the difference of a contrast between the contour of an external form of the substrate 3 and the sealing part 4, and 1 and 2 becomes smaller by a portion of one sheet of polarizing plate than the difference of a contrast between the contour of the external form and the shield 1. That is to say, the contrast difference becomes about a half. Also, since the sealing part 4 and the transmission light side polarizing plate 6 are not superposed, it also does not occur that the sealing part always becomes an intense light shielding state.
