PURPOSE:To prevent humidifying characteristic from being decreased even if a humidifying operation is carried out for a long period of time by a method wherein a water supplying pipe is arranged at an end part of a bag-like sheet and a water discharging pipe is arranged at the other end of the sheet, the water discharging pipe is engaged to be slightly lower than a water level in a water tank, an extremity end thereof is made in an inverted U-shape in such a way as it is guided into a drain pan in an air conditioner and the like. CONSTITUTION:Water having a high degree of impurities in a humidifying element 40 is passed through a water discharging pipe 6 and gradually discharged into a drain pan 11. At this time, an amount of water discharged through a discharging pipe 6 is made to a minimum value by slightly lowering a height of an inverted U-shaped pipe 6a than a water level H of a water tank 7 toward the minimum amount of water not decreasing the humidifying performance, whereby a useless amount of discharged water is made minimum, impurities contained in the supplied water and the like are discharged and then a humidifier not decreasing the humidifying performance is attained. In turn, in case that some impurities are adhered within the humidifying element 40, the inverted U-shaped pipe 6a is lowered downwardly to increase the amount of discharged water and to cause the water to be discharged.
