PURPOSE:To obtain high accuracy and the sufficient shielding degree of light by forming a black matrix by roughening the surface of a black matrix part, thereafter, allowing it to pass through a roller on which black ink is placed. CONSTITUTION:A black matrix forming part is formed by superposing each picture element of R, G and B on a transparent substrate 1 by a printing method. Subsequently, by using a mask 2, the surface of the black matrix forming part is roughened by a plasma. Also, by allowing it to pass through a roller 3 on which black ink is placed, a black matrix 4a is formed, and a color filter 4 for a liquid crystal display body is prepared. Accordingly, the transmittivity of light can be suppressed to <=0.5% in a visible area. In such a way, the contrast of an image is also enhanced, and the malfunction of an amorphous TFT provided on the lower part of the black matrix can also be eliminated.
