PURPOSE:To obtain superior electrophotographic characteristics and durability by using resin prepd. by bringing a specified F-contg. copolymer and alkoxy melamine resin as essential components into a curing reaction as the binding resin or protective resin in a top layer formed on an org. photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:Resin prepd. by bringing an F-contg. copolymer contg. fluoroolefin and alkyl vinyl ether or cycloalkyl vinyl ether as copolymerizable components and alkoxy melamine resin as essential components into a curing reaction is used as the binding resin or protective resin in a top layer formed on an org. photoconductive layer. Unlike polyfluoroethylene the F-contg. copolymer is soluble in an org. solvent, so the formation of a layer is facilitated. The alkoxy melamine resin is prepd. by synthesizing a mixture of mono--hexamethylol melamines by the reaction of melamine with formaldehyde under alkali conditions, curing the mixture by heating, and etherifying the resulting melamine resin with alkyl alcohol. Thus, superior durability is obtd.
