PURPOSE:To mount a plurality of planographic plates and enable printing of a book or magazine form printed matter having a multiplicity of leaves, by a construction wherein dampening water can not penetrate between the leading end of each of the second and latter planographic plates mounted on a flexible support base and the support base, and an ink is not received by this structure part. CONSTITUTION:Planographic plates P1 and P4 and planographic plates P2 and P3 are so arranged that the upper parts of respective manuscripts are opposed to each other, and the face side of a thin film 2 being adhesive on the back side is made to be highly hydrophilic so that the face side does not receive a printing ink during printing. The printing plates P1-P4 are mounted on a plate cylinder by gripping the leading ends of the first plates P1 and P2 by the cylinder, and then gripping the trailing ends of the second printing plates P2 and P3 by the cylinder. Printing is started by rotating the cylinder in the direction of an arrow. Dampening water flows in the same direction as the arrow, but it can not penetrate between the leading end of the second plates P2 and P3 and a flexible support base 1, due to the presence of the film. In addition, the surface of the film 2 is highly hydrophilic. Therefore, an ink is not adhered to this structure part except that two unrequired lines are printed due to adhesion of small amounts of the ink to a trailing edge part of the plates P1 and P4 and an edge part of the film 2. |
