PURPOSE:To realize the free analysis of software without deteriorating the performance of a software analysis system by counting up the contents of a main memory address via a microprogram as long as an instruction address is kept within a set range. CONSTITUTION:When a subroutine call instruction is carried out within an objective program 5, a microprogram sets the instruction address of the called side at an instruction address register 6 and also checks the ON- or OFF-state of a measurement flag 9. If the ON-state of the flag 9 is confirmed, it is checked whether or not an instruction address is set between an upper limit register 10 and a lower limit register 11. If so, a main memory address is obtained, based on the contents of the register 6, the register 11 and a start address register 7. Then '1' is added to said obtained address.
