PURPOSE:To obtain a smooth reproducing frequency characteristic having no waviness by treating the surface of ferrite by anisotropic etching, and providing a metallic magnetic material film thereon. CONSTITUTION:A pair of ferrite core half bodies 6a, 6b consist of single crystallive ferrite being excellent in a high frequency characteristic, and the respective joint surfaces 6a-1, 6b-1 are constituted so as to become (1, 1, 1) surfaces. To the joint surfaces 6a-1, 6b-1, anisotropic etching is performed in advance, and on the surface, a triangular pyramid-like minute projection or cavity (anisotropic pit) is formed. Metallic magnetic material films 7a, 7b are formed to prescribed thickness by covering the joint surfaces 6a-1, 6b-1 with the anisotropic pit, and thereafter, the surface for constituting a magnetic gap part 8 is ground and worked. In a boundary part of the ferrite core half bodies 6a, 6b and the metallic magnetic material films 7a, 7b, irregular unevenness is generated. Accordingly, the magnetic gap part 8 and the boundary part do not become parallel, the generation of waviness in a reproducing output - frequency characteristic is prevented and a satisfactory reproducing characteristic can be obtained.
