<p>PURPOSE:To avoid the second halftone application despite changes given to the layouts of character strings and lines set before a subject line or character string, by applying a halftone process to said subject line or character string when a halftone application editing indicator is detected out of an input text. CONSTITUTION:A halftone application start editing indicator (#HT2) and a halftone end editing indicator (#END) are put before and after a line or a character string to undergo a halftone process in an input text. The input text stored in a document file 5 is read out by a document editing program 4 and calculates the addresses of four corners of a halftone area formed by the character string or line to undergo a halftone process as long as the indicators #HT2 and #END are included in the input text of character strings to register those addresses into a halftone application table of a document processor 2. When a layout job is through with a relevant page, this page is delivered to an output device 6. Then the address of the halftone area is obtained from the halftone application table for production of the graphic data for halftone application. This graphic data is delivered to the device 6.</p> |
