PURPOSE:To easily and at high speed attain the modified edition of firmware, by transferring the firmware from a main memory to a RAM setting the RAM as the storage part of the firmware. CONSTITUTION:When a software instruction to transfer the firmware on the main memory 4 to the RAM3 is decoded by a processor 1, an address is sent from the processor 1 to a ROM2 via a bus 11, and a software execution program from the ROM2 is supplied to the processor 1 via a selector 5. Then, the processor 1 sends the address to the main memory 4 via a path 12, and reads out the firmware data of the main memory 4 via a path 9. Simultaneously, the processor 1 sends the address being continued to the address of the main memory 4 to the RAM3 via the path 12 passing through a selector 6, and stores the firmware data read out from the main memory 4 in the RAM 3 via a path 10. The interpretation of the software instruction here-after is executed by the firmware of the RAM3, and the firmware is stored in the ROM, and it is not necessary to exchange the ROM when the firmware is changed, thereby, it is possible to generate the modified edition of the firmware easily and rapidly.
