The drum consists of a cylindrical wall with a helical groove running between the sides of the wall and of width less than the min. dimension of the fruit stones. The wall is made of a large number of small plates of circular shape, placed consecutively from the transverse edges with a certain inclination to form a helical pattern whose spirals are sepd. by slightly less than the min. dimension of the stones. The plates display facing holes in the different spirals, for insertion of setting rods which are fixed at each end to the plates. Sepg. ferrules which determine the sepn. and inclination of the spirals, are mounted on the rods.
