PURPOSE:To detect the abnormal connection of wiring from a vehicle height sensor to a vehicle height data read part by supplying a check signal to the vehicle height sensor and outputting data for checking as a specific output, and comparing it with previously provided reference data. CONSTITUTION:While a driving signal is supplied from a driving means M2 to the vehicle sensor M1 to operate the sensor M1, the check signal is outputted by a check means M5. A constant-output generating circuit M6 which receives the signal outputs a specific-level output signal (e.g. 0). Then this output signal 0 is read in a check data read means M7 through a connecting means M3 such as a wire harness. Then if abnormality such as a wire break and a defect in contacting occurs to the connecting means M3, the output signal 0 is not inputted normally to a read means M7, but inputted as abnormal data (e.g. 1). A wire break decision means M8 compares the signal read in the read means M7 with the reference data 0 when the connecting means M3 is normal to make a decision, thereby securing detecting the abnormality of the connecting means M3.
