PURPOSE:To transfer a work efficiently, by operating a discharge device according to a detection signal of an engaging position detecting sensor, while stopping actuation of a sliding transfer device, and stopping actuator of the discharge device according to a detection signal of a discharge detecting sensor, while operating the sliding transfer device. CONSTITUTION:When a device started, a control circuit operates a discharge device 24 by a detection signal of an engaging position detecting sensor. And, in the case where a sliding transfer device 20 is operated, it is stopped. If so, a driven gear 15b being engaged with a driving gear 24b of the discharge device 24 is rotated, discharging one long-size work W so far held between a pair of rollers 15 and 16 of these gears from a transfer device 1. If so, actuation of the discharge device 24 is stopped by a signal of the engaging position detecting sensor and simultaneously the sliding transfer device 20 is operated, so that the driven gear 15b of the next holding mechanism 11 comes into a state of engaging the driving gear 24b of discharge device 24. Thus, abovementioned operations are repeated successively, and the work W is discharged piece by piece from the transfer device 1.
