PURPOSE:To enable recording operation and correcting operation (lift-off), by providing a recording heating element for heating an ink sheet arranged on a base material and a lift-off heating element arranged on the base material in the upstream of recording heating element in the recording direction. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 4 is assembled with a press angle alpha with respect to a recording sheet 2, and when recording is carried out, an ink ribbon 11 is fed from forward in synchronization with the motion of the thermal head 4, and upon passing through a dot forming means 16 and a lift-off control heating element 20, it is peeled from the trailing edge with a peeling angle beta. When an image is recorded, the dot forming means 16 is driven based on a print data signal and the lift-off control heating element 20 is turned ON (a low-recording temperature). At the time when ink is peeled from the recording sheet 2 in order to correct an erroneous recording, the lift-off control heating element 20 is turned OFF (brought to a cooled condition), and the dot forming means 16 is driven based on a data signal matching to an image to be erased.
