PURPOSE:To prevent gelation of a surfactant-contg. soln. contg. specific modified PVA by intrusion of a developing soln. therein by developing a lithographic printing plate then processing the same with the above-mentioned soln. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive lithographic printing plate is subjected to image exposure and development and is then processed with the surfactant-contg. soln. contg. >=1 kinds of the modified PVAs expressed by the formula I or II. In the formulas, R<1> denotes H, methyl; R<2> denotes H, lower alkyl, R<3> denotes alkylene, bivalent residual org. group in which chain carbon atoms are bonded to each other by O or N; R<4> denotes H, halogen, etc.; R<5> denotes a hydroxyl group, alkoxyl, etc.; m denotes 0-5; n denotes 0-2; x, y, z denote molar % of respective units. The gelation is obviated even if the silicate in the developing soln. is carried over into said soln.; in addition the long-term use of the soln. is permitted. |
