Process in which cyclohexane is oxidised with air to produce a mixture containing cyclohexyl hydroperoxide and in which this hydroperoxide is decomposed in the presence of cyclohexane to form cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone, the decomposition being conducted in the presence of a ruthenium compound soluble in the reaction mixture and of a co-ordinate whose skeleton is that of 1,3-bis(2- pyridylimino)isoindoline.
