PURPOSE:To vaporize a moisture content on the surface of solid fuel by means of a sensible heat by particles, by a method wherein high temperature particles collected from combustion exhaust gas exhausted from a fluidized bed combustion furnace are mixed with solid fuel, and thereafter, gas is carried and is fed in a fluidized bed in the combustion furnace. CONSTITUTION:Solid fuel 3 is charged in a fuel hopper 5 through a fuel feed pipe 4, and is introduced through a takeout valve 6 to a fuel-particle mixer 7. To the mixer, particles, collected from combustion exhaust gas exhausted from a combustion furnace 1 and having temperature of about 100-400 deg.C, are introduced through a particle recirculating pipe 8, and are mixed with the solid fuel 3. The mixing causes vaporization of a part or all of a moisture content on the surface of the solid fuel 3 by means of a sensible heat possessed by the solid fuel. This method eliminates drying of the solid fuel as pretreatment. Since a moisture content on the surface of the solid fuel is vaporized in a mixer 7, choking is prevented from occurring in fuel feed systems 11-14.
