PURPOSE:To easily produce a corrosion resistant electrode by coating the surface of a metallic material with a mixture of adhesive plastics with carbon and polishing the surface of the resulting film to a proper depth. CONSTITUTION:Adhesive plastics (epoxy resin) is mixed with carbon powder preferably in about 30:70 mixing ratio and the cleaned surface of a metallic material (Ti or Al) is coated with the mixture to about 1mm thickness. The resulting film is cured by holding at the curing temp. of the plastics for a required time and the surface of the cured film is polished to about 0.2mm depth. About 10% powder of a metal such as Pt, Ir, In or Ta may be incorporated into the film. Thus, corrosion resistance can be easily provided even to an electrode of a complex shape without requiring large-scale equipment.
