PURPOSE:To inhibit the fogging of an image without deteriorating the quality by forming a specified hydrophilic colloidal layer contg. a specified precursor of a development retarder on a photographic element for a color diffusion transfer process. CONSTITUTION:This photographic element for a color diffusion transfer process has a hydrophilic colloidal layer contg. a dispersed mixture of a precursor of a development retarder capable of releasing the development retarder by contact with an alkali or reducing substance with a homo- or copolymer insoluble in water, soluble in an org. solvent and having repeating units each contg. a bond represented by the formula. The precursor may be replaced with a mixture of two or more kinds of precursors. The pref. amt. of the precursor applied is 0.001-10mmol./m<2>. When the photographic element is used, the fogging of an image is inhibited without lowering the density during storage, a superior transferred image is obtd. and the processing temp. latitude can be extended. |
