PURPOSE:To enable the marking positions to be converted notably within an extremely short time by a method wherein an optical system unit fixed to a base plate is rocked as a whole. CONSTITUTION:A protruding piece 1a is integrally connected to the upper end of a base plate 1 in the direction of an optical system unit 2 while the base plate 1 is free rockingly held on an axis 10 at the intersection point of the protruding piece 1a with prolongated lines from the center of unit 2. In order to convert a marking position of semiconductor package 7 from M to M', the base plate 1 is rocked so that the unit 2 as a whole may be rocked integrally to away the optical axis of laser beams for conversion of marking positions.
