PURPOSE:To make a wire rod having no defect at all by providing on a defective product rejection device, a marking detection device and the alarming circuit generating an alarm output in the case of being different by comparing the number of marking pieces detected by this detection device with the preset number of pieces. CONSTITUTION:The defective product rejection device 13 to be attached to a wire rod working device 14 is composed of a marking detection device 15, control device 16 and alarm lamp 17. The marking is detected by projecting a light on a wire rod 18 by the marking detection device 15. The generated number of markings is compared with the number of pieces preset by the control device 16 and in the case of being different an alarm is outputted by the alarm lamp 17. The marking of the wire rod 18 cut in the specified length by the wire rod working device 14 is shifted in the specified times after detection and dropped into a container 38. The nondefective product detecting no marking is discharged into a container 39. The product having no defect at all can thus be offered.
