PURPOSE:To uniformly heat the entire body of a structure to a desired temperature in a short time and reduce manufacturing cost, by embedding a heat- generating element for heating in a structure constituting an ink jet head. CONSTITUTION:A heat-generating element 3 is provided in each of walls on opposite sides of a cavity 2 in a structure 1 along the cavity 2, and a plurality of heat-generating resistors 16 are connected between both end electrodes 15 at a substantially regular pitch. The entire body of the structure 1 can be uniformly heated. A structure 1a may be formed of a ceramic material having a piezoelectric effect, an electrode 18 may be provided in each of walls on opposite sides of a pressure chamber 12 in a cavity 2 in the structure 1a, and electrodes 19 parallel to the electrodes 18 may be provided on outer walls of the structure 1a. With a driving voltage impressed between the electrodes 18, 19 from a driving circuit 15, the walls of the pressure chamber 12 are vibrated by a pressure generated by the piezoelectric effect, and an ink is jetted from a nozzle 11. |
