PURPOSE:To facilitate the terminal processing of coils and at the same time to reduce the thickness of an optical head by setting the focusing and tracking coils fixed to an actuator base at the position opposite to a permanent magnet attached to an objective lens holder. CONSTITUTION:When a servo current flows to a tracking coil 18 or a focusing coil 19, the driving force acts on a permanent magnet 17 attached to an objective lens holder 15 since the sides of both coils 18 and 19 are fixed. Thus the tracking or focusing control is carried out. Furthermore, the terminal processing is extremely simplified for both coils since they are fixed. The height of a coil part can be minimized since both coils 18 and 19 are unified and the thickness of an optical head is easily reduced.
