PURPOSE:To separate a fluid surely from the inner surface of a container, by a method wherein a container or the like having a conductive material on the inner surface thereof is immersed into a cleaning liquid and one voltage of DC is applied to the inner surface of a container or the like while the other voltage is applied to an electrode immersed in the cleaning liquid. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of coal and water (coal/water slurry) 1 is sampled into a storage container 2 composed of conductive material such as metal. The slurry 1 in the container 2 is basically made up of powdered coal and contains anions as given by an ion based additive such as ion based surfactant and water for the rest. In the slurry 1, cations such as water molecules exist. The container 2 is connected, for example, to the negative side of a DC power source 6 while an electrode 7 immersed in the slurry 1 is connected, for example, to the positive side of the power source 6. In this manner, with the application of a voltage from the power source 6, powdered coal adhering to the inner wall surface of the container 2 can be separated therefrom 2.
