PURPOSE:To obtain an oil-based paint which has excellent spreadability during coating and a high drying rate and gives a coating film having excellent hardness, by adding gum juran to the oil-based paint. CONSTITUTION:0.2-2wt.% (based on the amount of component C) gum juran (A) and optionally a thickener (B) (e.g., xanthane gum) etc., are added to an oil-based paint (C) such as boiled oils, oil-based paint, blended synthetic resin paint, oil varnish, oil-based enamel, etc.
