PURPOSE:To extend a virtual storage without being accompanied with a remarkable modification of an operating system, by dividing a program to be executed into two and placing them in two virtual storages, and executing a program by two CPUs. CONSTITUTION:In a virtual storage (A) 3 having a first space control part (A) 8 and a second space control part (B) 9, when a large program which is insufficient by the capacity of the storage 3, it is divided into a program part (1) 10 and a program part (2) 11. Subsequently, the part 10 and the part 11 are placed on the storage 3, and on the outside of the storage 3 in a virtual storage (B) 4, respectively, and processing parts 5, 13 for executing a processing for transferring the control of execution of the program from a CPU (A) 1 to a CPU (B) 2, and a processing for returning the execution of the program are provided. In such a way, the large storage 4 which could not be used in the CPU 1 can be used by a simple program. That it, the virtual storage can be extended without being accompanied with a modification of an operating system.
