摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To simultaneously control the actuation of an oil feed system of a cam and a connecting device by one operation by connecting a cam oil feed passage and an oil path for the connecting device through an orifice in series, and switching the circulating direction of lubricating oil using a spool valve. CONSTITUTION:Lubricating oil in an oil tank 30 is force-fed to a flow regulating selector valve 32 by an oil pump 31. The selector valve 32 comprises a spool valve 33 and a variable orifice 34. In this arrangement, during medium-low speed operation of an engine, the first and second ports 35, 36 of the spool valve 33 are communicated with each other to introduce lubricating oil into an oil feed passage 25 through the variable orifice 34 and introduce same into an oil path 20 in a rocker shaft 7 through an orifice 39. On the other hand, during high speed operation, a solenoid 37 is excited to communicate the first and third ports 35, 38 with each other to supply lubricating oil to the oil path 20. Thus a piston 16 is driven to connect rocker arms 8, 9 with each other to switch the valve.</p>
