A X-Y plotter controlled by a stepping motor and a solenoid comprises an I/O port (1), D flip-flops (2,3) latching a data for driving the motor, a time delay circuit (4) supplying a clock signal to the I/O port, an address latching circuit (5), an image ROM (6) storing an operation data of a pen, a CPU (7) controlling a system mechanism, a decoder (8), a buffer (9), a RAM (10) storing system program, a motor driving circuit (12), and a solenoid driving circuit (13).
