PURPOSE:To improve the resistance of a steel cord to deterioration in rubber by twisting plural brass plated steel wires each having a Cu-Zn-N ternary alloy layer contg. a prescribed amt. of N as the outermost layer. CONSTITUTION:This brass plated steel cord is formed by drawing and twisting plural brass plated steel wires each having a Cu-Zn-N ternary alloy layer contg. >=0.005wt.% N as the outermost layer.
