PURPOSE:To prevent optical fibers from being failed at their connection by measuring intervals among respective optical fibers when these optical fibers are in their stopped states to find out a maximum interval value and determining a value obtained by adding a fixed value to be a pushed value to the maximum interval value as a feed value. CONSTITUTION:Light from an illuminating lamp is projected, a change in the output of a line sensor 16 based on the shadows of the optical fibers 12 is detected and the left side multicore optical fibers 10 are advanced. If the #5 optical fiber 12 e.g. crosses the line sensor 16 at the time of the advancement, an output at the crossing part is dropped. When the moving distance l1 of the tip of the #5 fiber obtained by feeding it a little until the succeeding optical fiber crosses the line sensor 16 is measured and moving distances l2-l5 are similarly found out, unevenness at respective tips of the optical fibers 12 is obtained. Thereby, all the optical fibers 12 can be surely connected by pressing them only by L=gmax+Q obtained by adding their pushed values Q to the maximum value (gmax) out of the intervals (g) of respective fibers 12 during discharging. Consequently, the optical fibers 12 can be prevented from being failed at their connection due to the lack of the pushed values. |
