PURPOSE:To superimpose a stereoscopic picture directly without manual operation by generating electronically another telop capable of being superimposed stereoscopically from one telop. CONSTITUTION:A superimposing telop picture is stored in a field memory 7, its contour is extracted by a telop key signal generating circuit 8 to form a key signal. An arithmetic circuit 4 calculates the depth of a position desired for superimposing by using a left/right eye picture input 4 and an output of a designated information and key generating circuit S by a joy stick 3 and displays the result onto a display section 5. A superimposing generation circuit 9 generates the superimposing picture for left/right eyes based on the output of the depth preset circuit 6 and the key generating circuit 8.
