<p>PURPOSE:To form a recording track so that no overwrite is generated, by scanning a tracking servo means so as to perform scan along the boundary of a pilot signal at a prescribed position from a data recording track. CONSTITUTION:The tracking servo means TRS projects a position separated by 1.5PH (PH represent the track pitch of the recording track) from a single data head means UNI, and a data head is controlled so that the TRS can scan on the boundary BD1 or BD2 set at the central position of a guard band GB between the recording tracks Tk and Tk+1. Also, a distance from the recording tracks T1-T8 formed by plural data heads UHI to the TRS is selected at a value being represented as an equation LHG=PG+(n+1/2)PH, (where, n+1, 2, 3..., PG represents the pitch of a track group, and PH represents the track pitch).</p> |
