PURPOSE:To form a Magenta dye picture image having superior hue and to improve the color reproducibility of a silver halide photographic sensitive material by incorporating a specified Magenta couple and a compound into at least one silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one Magenta couplex expressed by the formula [I] and at least one compound having >=2 a group expressed by the formula [II] in the structure of its molecule, are incorporated into a silver emulsion layer. In the formula [I], Z is a nonmetal atom group necessary for forming a N-contg. hetrocyclic ring; X is H atom or a group being releasable by the reaction with an oxidized body of a color developing agent; R is a H atom or substituent. In the formula [II], RA is alkyl, alkenyl, or aryl group. By this constitution, the spectral absorption characteristics of a Magenta dye are improved, and, as the result, the color reproducibility is remarkably improved and the preservability of picture image of Magente dye is also improved. Thus, silver halide photographic sensitive material having high color developing and sufficient maximum density are obtd. |
